Every character here is drawn from scratch. That is the point of this set, and it is the reason it exists: almost every anime coloring page online is a character someone else owns, which makes it useless for a classroom and legally awkward for anyone else. These belong to no series. One hundred original designs covering the recognisable types, a mage in a hooded cloak, a young knight in light armour, a singer with a microphone, chibi characters with oversized heads, and close-up faces where the eyes carry most of the detail.
Ways to use these anime coloring pages
The eyes are the whole exercise. Anime eyes are built from separate enclosed shapes, the iris, the highlight, the shadow. Colouring them in layers rather than as one block is what makes a finished page look like the real thing.
Chibi first for younger children. Designs 4, 15, 32 and 35 are the chibi ones, with oversized heads and simplified bodies. They have fewer small areas and finish much faster.
Fill in the speech bubbles. Several designs place an empty speech bubble beside the character. Children write the line themselves, which turns a colouring sheet into something they will actually keep.
Every design downloads as a US Letter PDF that also scales cleanly to A4 with
“Fit to printable area”. Print in grayscale, there is no color in the files. Ordinary copier
paper is fine for crayons and pencils; use cardstock or slip a spare sheet underneath for markers.
Free to print at home, in a classroom or in a library, see the license.
Frequently asked questions
Are any of these from a real anime series?
No, and that is deliberate. Every design is original artwork drawn for this site. We do not publish pages based on films, shows, games or branded characters, which means you can print a class set without a rights problem.
Which pages are easiest?
The chibi designs. Larger shapes, fewer internal lines, and proportions that are forgiving if a child goes outside the outline.
Are these suitable for older children and teenagers?
Yes, and the close-up faces are the ones to print for them. The eye detail is fine enough to reward pens, and the style is closer to what a teenager would draw themselves.
Is there anything to write on?
Yes. The designs with an empty speech bubble are drawn with the blank space left in deliberately, so a name or a line of dialogue fits without covering the artwork.
